Mining Older Images

I have been mining some of my earlier photgraphs as I have gradually have learned newer ways of post processing here on dgrin. These are a few shots I did with a 10D and a Tamron 28-75 Di lens. The lighting was hazy and overcast and I did not think they amounted to much when I first looked at the RAW files , but I went back and reprocessed them and color balanced them by thresholds, and this is what I now have. They look rather nice as large matte prints.

The last image I will display twice - the first image is how I originally post processed the file, and the second is my more recent attempt. The first version I think I submitted in the "Paths" Challenge last spring. I greatly prefer the second version.

    Geez! I can't even imagine places like this....you are truly blessed with some great locations and shots.

    And I personally prefer the 1st one.

    Shooting RAW
    I think this really points out the value of shooting raw.

    As you learn more, you have the opportunity to go back and resurrect things.

    I enjoyed your series.
    I think raw is the only way to go.If you have the space.

    I prefer the last one. I remember the challenge when you entered that one. I was pretty new here at the time. I have always admired your work and it surprises and inspires me to find that you too are learning all the time. I like what you have done with the colors and light on that shot. A nice improvement to an already good shot. thumb.gif
