Yerbut HOW is he seeing these default SM prices mate...thats what i need to know. I have the printer turned off...can you look at the album & make sure you cant see it. He has no other way of seeing that specific price...he has to have got it from that album...no ?
i have clients now telling me that they want the 8 x 10 @ $2.99
Who cares? They can take or leave your price, and you're certainly not going to be giving your work away for free, which is what $2.99 is, to you.
Life is too short, IMO, to negotiate with these kids. Your prices are reasonable, sure they can order a print for 2.99, but a print of what? That's just the print, not your work, talent and time.

You're selling professionally. Your price is your price.

Just FYI, we have two catalogs: http://smugmug.com/prints/catalog.mg and http://smugmug.com/prints/catalog2.mg . If you're a pro and you keep the "prints and gifts" link in your footer, we feed your custs catalog 2 (because you deserve more than $3!).
Visitors can still stumble across the priced catalog (from www.smugmug.com, for example). I hope that clears things up a bit.

And use this,
.cartlink_footer { display: none; }
in your css to hide the shopping cart in the footer.
