    Antonio,
The Assignments created by Nikolai are a success and the proposals are better everyday.
I am honored, I have started the 1.st of the 1.st.
    Congratulations Nikolai. :):
    Good iniciative.
    Nice and good work .

I appreciate and share your enthusiasm, but I honestly think it's too early to call it any names. Once we manage to pass some "important" threshold, like at least 10 (mind you, as a programmer I'm using a hexadecimal notation, so it's 1610 :-) - then let's pop the beer or a bottle of un vieille veuvemwink.gif and have some celebration:-)

In the mean time - I want to see everybody's threes!!

Damn ! is there any photoshop "trick" in that ? if not, you damn rule.

(sorry for the "damn" thing, I just think this word is so cool :D )
No photoshop trick- the raindrops were in a spiders web between the rungs of a ladder I simply placed a flower on the lower rung and photographed the refracted image of the flower in the drops. The only trick is that the image was focus stacked from 2 shots of the same subjects- one shot was with the drops in focus (well nearly) and the refracted image very slightly OOF and the other shot was vice versa (ie the drops slightly OOF and the refracted image in focus). Should add this only works well with drops about 2mm in dia or smaller as larger drops distort the refracted image too much. If you are lucky or are more careful where you place the object to be refracted you can sometimes get the distances/ focal length of the drops to match and get both the drop and the refracted image both in focus in one shot.

Few more threes from the airshow
Nothing even remotely close to Brians three drops, but hey, we can't all be geniuses :-)

    Three stripes:

    Three circles:

    Three wheels:

Actually, the next one fit all three assigments:
    1. simple shapes (circle, sectors)
    2. one circle (or one star:-)
    3. three sectors, three colors (and three topic matches :): :-)

    Three lions:

    Three WWII soldiers:

We still got almost the whole week left, let's keep clicking! :):

Thank you for your entries:-)! thumb.gif

Three shots are just perfect! :):

Three rocks - I wish you'd stopped down the aperture a bit. ne_nau.gif
You were probably "shooting" for the bug, and it's fine on its own, but speaking of three, the other two rocks are barely visible.
Oh well, I guess it's a mixed entry between One bug and Three rocks rolleyes1.gif

Thank you, but I'm afraid you've mistaken my shots for Brian's or Doug's or John's :D

In fact, they set the bar so high that I simply had to enter something what us mere mortals can do, otherwise everybody else would be too afraid to enter anything that is not Getto Center quality :-)

    3 pictures of 3's
While taking my kids on a campus tour of the University of Vermont yesterday, I took these 3 pictures of 3.

Can I also say that I'm glad this is a class and not a competition? There are a lot of awesome shots in this thread!

    #1 Windows

    #2 Cones

Neat entry, it's great that you thought of it while going for campus check thumb.gif

It's also great that #1 and #3 have extra threes in them: white thingies on top fo the windows and the light fixtures on the wall above the skylights...:-))

My attempt- macro as usual. Three rain drops in spiders web with three strands and 3 flowers refracted in the drops :)

This picture is jaw-droppingly good. Probably one my favorite macros, ever. Do I see a bit of your reflection in the middle drop?

Can you guess what they are? Well, the 3rd is obvious. mwink.gif
