It's actually a curved surface... the focus line runs from bottom-left to upper-right (near middle of frame). Not my best shot, I know... it was an ashtray cylinder thingy.

I honestly have no idea how to get a non-trivial angle on a surface like that headscratch.gif
Oh well, I'm sure you'll find more stones around :-) :):

I think I only saw a bigger one in Paris, Fr., in a very modernist area called La Défense. That one was like 3 stories high - just one thumb, realistic colors, nothing else (yak)...

    Cool stone! :):

I've been watching all the assignments here with no chance of taking part.

Well done Nikolai for starting these threads they are great.

Finally I find myself sitting on a pebble beach with the family for a coulpe of days. Please forgive the late entry.

    Welcome to the class!

No such thing as too late to go shoot whatever (unless you're a wedding photog :-)

Nice pebbles! And tilting the camera just a tad lower would make them great pebbles, IMHO:-)

Bring some more (pebble castle? pebble mosaic? pebbles in the ocean? you name it:-). thumb.gif

I took these stone shots in the yard of the soon-to-be-mine house. We are closing on 9/15. I can't wait! Anyway here are the pics.
