Ok i have a 80-200 canon lense and after going to the 49er game today... I need more power I was on the upper deck 3rd row. I was shooting at the 200m for 99.5% of the game. It was great when they were close to me but when they were at the end of the field they looked like my old 2.1mp camera. Im shooting with the 20D

Can any one recumend a good place to buy froom? I looked at wolf but they want 6G for a 400m. Does any one have a canon and use the sigma lenses? I want a lense that will do the job so should I stay only with canon or try a 3rd partie??deal.gifne_nau.gif

    Sigma 50-500?
    Aaron,

Have you considered the BIGMA? That is the Sigma 50-500 mm F4 - 6,3 EX APO RF (HSM). I don't own the lens but I've heared MANY positive reactions. This lens seems to ylsuper.gif Check out the Canon Lens Talk Forum at dpreview http://www.dpreview.com and search for bigma or sigma 50-500, you'll see lots of examples of the capabilities of this lens! (BTW: this lens is quite cheap, don't know what it goes for in the US, but it is cheaper than the 100-400 L IS in The Netherlands) I'd suggest checking out B&H for a price in the state. B&H seems to be a good supplier of lenses (http://www.bhphotovideo.com)

    Good luck lens-hunting!

Hmmm, I'll have to read up on that lens, Michiel. Aaron, if you're comfortable buying used, check out the Buy/Sell forum at www.fredmiranda.com. I've bought a lot of used glass there, good experiences, but be careful.
    Sid.

Another option is the sigme 170-500mm. I like mine and it is cheaper and lighter than the 50-500mm.
