Anyone noticed an improvement in speed since the upgrade? My browsing speed in a gallery viewing at 'Medium' size has gone from 14 seconds per image to 6 seconds! And that is on a slow 100k ISdn connection.
Well done Smugmug team!

Hi mtnbiker, sorry you are experiencing slowness! Two things to do, so we can help diagnose:

    1) run a traceroute from you to www.smugmug.com and post the results here. If you need help with that, holler.

    2) go to www.dslreports.com and run a line quality test. The site requires registration, but it's free, and the test is under "tools" - share the link from the test when you are done.

It's very sporadic, sometimes taking a few seconds to open my gallery page...sometimes taking 20 seconds...sometimes timing out completely.

Everything looks ok right now, next time I experience issues I will post with tracert hops. My internet connection never really seems to be a problem as all other sites pop right up when I am experiencing speed issues to smugmug.

I've been experiencing the same as mtnbiker. Had to try uploading a gallery of 67 images three times before they were all accepted. browsing the galleries on all of SM seems to be much slower than it has in the past. West Coast here.

Could you do traceroute, and the dslreports test? It helps us to diagnose what might be the problem.

Yeah, I have to agree. At times, and I can't put any meaningful criteria to it, Smugmug is really slow at times. I had a couple issues uploading with socket errors, but that happens from time to time and always has, however, even at off-peak hours I have issues where Smugmug pages take FOREVER to load. I usually get impatient after about 5-10 seconds and reload a couple times and that seems to wake it up, but it is pretty frequent. My line quality and ISP are top notch and I'm literally 500 feet from my DSL substation. It's not incapacitating for me, but definitely annoying at times. Good luck with it.

    Same experience here.

One time a page just won't load (entirely) - or i just quit waiting after about a minute. Then i hit refresh or move to another page and that page appears with lightning speed... strange. Rather inconsistent.
I can't grasp the notion of time.

When I hear the earth will melt into the sun,
    in two billion years,
    all I can think is:
"Will that be on a Monday?"
