I've been druling over these DSLR's for a long time. I've also grown to realise that the camera I have now does not have the features I need to do the photography I like.

I'm druling over this Conon EOS Rebel XT DSLR . But there are a couple things I don't understand about it. What would I need a 1200 ISO for? -Noisy... But other than that I can figure most of it out. I am going thru the BX because I get a good deal.

Here's a link...I hope it works.

Any other options, please let me know. I like the Canons, and DSLR.

EDIT: I didn't think many other cameras were more user friendly then my lumix. I took a better look at the back of the EOS Rebel.... I was DEAD wrong.... DANG IT! I want this camera soo bad it almost hurts!

The BX is ripping you off. Without a lens B&H (bhphoto.com) has them for $622. I always thought BX's are supposed to be cheap, but then again I always thought they were called PX's. You can get the XTi that replaced it for $800 from B&H. Have you seen the reviews at dpreview.com? ISO 1600 isn't that bad on these from what I've heard. I know on a 20D I can make a 24x36 at iso 1600, and the recent Rebels (XT and XTi) are supposed to almost as low in noise. Speaking of which though, do they have any 20D's? Also, you can always get a good savings by buying used (fredmiranda.com has what is probably the most active buy and sell board).

BTW, for low noise at high ISO Canon beats all.

Well...they come in both with and without the kit lens. With kit lens costs another $100. It's a cheapy, but it does get the job done.

I like the 20D more. For one, I think the thumbwheel on the back makes it more intuitive to use, plus it's better build quality. It's slightly lower res than the XTi, but it's also lower noise and faster fps. There's also the 30D which made some small upgrades to the 20D, but it's the same sensor, and the 20D's can be had for a lot cheaper since they are the last generation.

Hmm... thanx again. I'm soakin this up like a sponge.

Lower res? Lower MP, right? Just clarifying. Still getting used to this Photog terminology and acronyms.

Right. XTi is 10MP and 20D is 8MP.
