friend of mine rode one of those, he hit 130mph on the interstate, pulled hard on the throttle and the bike popped up. he rode the wheelie until around 160 and came off the throttle at 215. he said it could have gone faster =/
(this guy has ridden for over 30 years, rides and sells bikes for a living, do not try this at home!)
$5 says your buddy wasn't doing over a buck fiddy :s85
Yeah, ive spent a good while on one...they are fast but not that fast.
Whilst i take my hat off to the coppers ...any 20 year old on a 1000 is going to leave that big heavy 'busa looking for brakes & handling. Possibly a bit of PR maybe ?
Niiiiice!
I ride the South Oz version... a BMW R1150RT-P... weighs in at 345kg (about 750 lbs)... flat out speed of about ... well, no where near what the 'Busa would do And I have to agree with Gus... personally I rarely chase a sports bike... too many things can go wrong and I'd rather go home than the morgue

Now... my only other question is... why is the bike parked in a disabled car park? That is really one of my pet hates...

Hahahaha funny you should pick up on that illegal parking.
...... Well its like Doctors mate, just cause they have the initials DR in front of their name doesn't mean they're good ....... Skippy (Australia)

The RT is a great bike but compared to the 1200GS, it's a heavy lunk.
Both have their purpose but if you get a 1200, you'll be back in cars
pretty quick

I am glad you guys liked the bike .. i actually ask him to park there so i could get a somewhat clean background...they got this one as a drug seizure and supposedly have another now.. the bike does do a lot of P.R. work. the event i was at this day is for underprivileged kid. We (teachers , OHP, and Wildlife officers) take the kids fishing .. they get to see all the cool cop stuff .. there more pix on my site .. OHP has a dragster as well..
thanks for looking .
holy crap a hayabusa for a police chopper, lol. that sounds like a fun bike to ride the interstate all day.
When i was talking to him he said he had been to the borders of Oklahoma on all sides in several places.. he said the handle bar risers really made it a sweet ride.. plus it has extended pegs. it looked comfortable..

this particular bike had several factory modifications done that gave it a lot of extra juice.
a stock hayabusa will peg 180 without breaking a sweat. my "buddy" is a pro rider...he's nuts.
google "hayabusa top speed" and you'll see some interesting articles.
Ohhhhhhhhh forgive me...... I forgot you resemble that remark Skippy (Australia)
