I've set up this account for a friend and I run the site for her...

www.onbroadwaydancers.smugmug.com

it is directed to the SM account from

www.onbroadwaydancers.com

The company that hosts the domain name has changed from www.interland.com
to
www.web.com

Now I can not get to the site by typing only
www.onbroadwaydancers.com

Could the change in the company be causing the issues?

Those numbers are meaningless to us. We ONLY support CNAME. Set up a CNAME alias from www.onbradwaydancers.com to www.smugmug.com and then put www.onbroadwaydancers.com in the domain box on that SmugMug site control panel.

thanks for the reply Andy... I think I have figured the issue out, but maybe you can explain something to me about domain names...

The owner of the domain name in question originally had website hosting services thru another provider. She decided to subscribe to SM and have me build her a site for her business, which I did.
She then cancelled the hosting service. So how do I now set the onbroadwaydancers.com domain name to point to SM?

go to the domain host where the domain is registered. That's where you set it up. Let us know, thanks.

OK I think I have the problem figured out.
The company the she formerly had hosting her webpage was hosting the domain name also. When she cancelled the website hosting she lost her domain host. So now she has a domain (registered thru the previous company) but no one is hosting it...
Would it be best to transfer the registration and hosting to Joker or GoDaddy?
