Assignment #21: Into the Light

Enough low angles! This time we're going to have much more enlightening subject, as each valid shot should lead the viewer into the light!

While some non-trivial interpretations of the subject may be considered, the primary goal is to include a powerful light source into your frame. The source in question may be partially blocked, but it must present enough of itself to represent a valid entry.

The list of possible light sources includes, but is not limited to: sun, moon, street light, desk lamp, flashlight, car headlights, etc. Anything that actively emits light and is much brighter than the surroundings.

As always: fresh pictures, moderate post-processing.
For the rest of the basic rules and index please check out this sticky.

Let's get enlightened! :-) :wink

I wonder if this photo qualifies...
This assignment is too similar to Specular Light.
I must be missing something here. :D

    Small Aircraft Crash
Was on my way home tonight when I noticed a fire at the airport, so I turned around to see what was going on. A small aircraft was upside down and burning. Didnt get alot of information except that everyone lived thankfully. I wasnt real happy with my execution as I had better shots but they were blurry or over exposed, heres a few that werent bad.

If this picture is fresh, it does:- )
    If not, it don't:-)

Yes, this assignment is similar, yet different. We're looking for the light source being the main subject of the picture, not just an itty-bitty part of it. Check the Douglas entry, or this one (old) of mine.

Great entries, very cool photojournalism! thumb.gif
I'd suggest to contact a local newspaper and offer them a copy (don't forget to charge:-)

    A weak entry
    It's not a sun, it's not a moon, it's not a star...
    it's only a frigging comet:-)

Just got back from Cancun. Man was spray painting these pictures in the street near Punta Cancun. Then he went for the quick dry.

One thing (amongst many others:-) SoCal is good for: clear skies 24x7 most time of the year.
Not many chances for dramatic sunsets or crepuscular rays, but at least comet shots can be taken at will:-) rolleyes1.gif

    Thanks Nick....
I thought this to be a cool light shot as well....Glad the steam was covering up the sun otherwise the shot would have been no good.
