Western Digital, a big maker of hard drives, but I think their best are internal, not external. You should really spend some time researching reliability and online reviews and ratings. I gather there's quite a difference between external hard drives. As I said before, I'm very happy with Maxtor, I have two, including one identical to the link you posted. It's great. thumb.gif

The Mac folks at work use LaCie and are happy. But I've read that hooking-up a LaCie isn't merely plug-n-play on a PC, it's apparently more complicated.

Best advice is to read around, especially the reviews from users.Check CNET, and Amazon has user reviews. And just Google it.

Thanks, Sid, I think I will go ahead and order the Maxtor. It is free shipping.

160gb is more than I have now, and the price, if it is better somewhere else, it can't be worth hours of work to save 5.00, smile.

thumb.gif I hope you enjoy using it, Ginger. I never bothered to install the One-Touch software. It lets you backup your hard drive with the push of a button.

Sounds very cool, wicked cool, and just what I need. My hard drive is about full right now, after just one more shoot last week. I am thinking of going out and trying to get some birds tonight. Don't know if there are birds at night, and Harry isn't around to ask.

There is a new "path" that was mentioned in the paper, it is not far from here, but it is over a mile, aaaaaaaaaaaaghgghhhhhhh, still I might do it, just to see what I can see. It is over by that big WW2 ship where I labored with Rutt over something called The Turner Sky for the light challenge.

I am hoping that I might be able to get the city from there, too. Only way is to go look. And I can't look without a photo or two, am really looking fwd to more hard drive. (I just asked Bill if we needed to carry the "tri-pod", he didn't answer) Probably makes him weary.
