Now that I have this fancy new camera I figure I will need a bigger memory card than the 128mB card I have in my 775. The qustion is with a C-5060 do I really care about Write Advance? Should I by a standard CF II card or something like a 12x or 40x card? The camera also supports xD cards. Are they faster than CF?

Thanks!

I have a 5050 (i use 2 cards only...a CF & an xD) & i cannot see any diff at all in the write speed. The CF is a whole lot cheaper & a whole lot harder to lose..xD cards are sooooo small.

My 5050 takes Smart Media & mini disc as well....i assume the 5060 does...how they compare i dont know.

Seen the review on the C-8080 yet ?

    Aero, welcome aboard! wave.gif

Based on my experience with the Canon G3, I think a CFII card is more than enough for your needs. A 512 or 1gb card will serve you well. x40 write speed is not needed. Your camera doesn't make images fast enough to warrant paying the extra for a super fast card.

Most faster cards will also download faster to your computer if you have a fast card reader so you can potentially save time at your computer.

Thank you very much! It's great to be here. I appreciate your comments. Sounds like the Lexar 512MB 12x card I picked up off of EBAY will work just fine!

    Thanks again!
