Hi. I am brand new to the Digital Grin postings. I have done a basic search on my topic, but did not find an answer to my question(s). I am planning two shooting trips late in the spring. I would like to know if there are Nikkor AF-S 500 or 600mm lens for temporary use, as in rent or something.

I would love to have one of these lens, but I have not found anything other than the brand new purchase.

Anyone have any ideas? I can be reached off line at dwbren@comcast.net.

Thanks in advance.

    Hi Neighbor wave.gif

I've never rented, but a google search on camera rental maryland brings up these guys -
Service Photo I don't know what lenses they have as this is what's posted on their site "Our rental list is constantly changing, so please call us for specific product availability, and complete rental terms." They're located in Baltimore.

Penn Camera in DC has the 400mm 2.8 - Penn Camera list in PDF

Here is the Penn Camera Site. They may be able to help you find what you're looking for.

I was about to suggest my local place for renting, but then noticed you are in Maryland (and I'm in Seattle, WA).

I can speak to the experience though. Local store Glazers Camera rents the lenses you are referring to, but they now require a deposit for the full cost of the lens! eek7.gif In the case of the 600mm that's nearly 10K!
