I most often shoot outdoors, but have just starting experimenting with indoor bounce flash. I have had good results by using manual settings on the flash, but find that I need to brighten up the subjects faces more. Would you still recommend this product, now that you probably have used it on other ocasions?
Does it work well with closeups?
I am using the newer version with the diffuser. 4" x 4 1/2" is the size (middle size).
I am still learning bounce flash as well and the JD product does a great job eliminating unwanted shadows. You can take a look at the wedding gallery photos and see for yourself that it does do a good job with closeups.
I shooy mainly sports and have a lot to learn about shooting people, especially portrait type work. I have been reading the Strobist site trying to shorten my learning curve a bit.
