Yes, I know the meaning of fan as defined by Webster, but I mean, how/why does one declare one a fan of another website? I just noticed today that my website has a fan...what's that about?

A "fan" is someone who says you're their friend or family, but you haven't reciprocated yet.

Visitors viewing your pages won't see the "fans" section, so it's really just a hint to you that someone apparently likes you and you might want to link back to them.

I see. I have no idea who the person is, but I do know that I'm flattered.
