Sorry to hear bout the bad day gus. I don't know if this will be any help but if ya can't get the right part locally might be able to find a busted camera on ebay with the right part ya need. I haven't tried this with camera's but I do it all the time with laptops.

I do indeed pity the fools who robbed you. Could it have been kids? Doesn't sound like they knew value when it was right in front of them. I can't imagine they will be riding around wearing your helmet, but you never know, do you.

    It's no fun being buglarized!
Our offices were bugularized 3 times and they took our computers (Macs were very valuable and desirable). They finally caught the ring of thieves, and we actually got some zip disks back. I was on the news, but didn't see it since we get San Francisco News, and where I work they get San Jose News.

The first time it was devastating, so many emotions from anger, fear and depression. After the second bugulary I was a lot calmer about the entire thing. I had external drives which we hid at night and I knew insurance would take care of it. The data was much more important to us than the machines.

Oh, by the way I do know someone in Brisbane who loves to fix things, he might be able to help with your tripod and camera, pm me if you are interested.

We recognise our helmets at 100 yards as well as we recognise our own kids.

Yup. nod.gif I can only hope that your perp wears one of your 15yo helmets, has a getoff, and it fails, causing dain bramage. That would be a nice karma turnabout.
