Hi Murphy - nice one! I like the pose, the expression. She's got a bit of blue cast to her though, I can't help but think that you can do better with the skin tone. I love the open space, anticpation of "what is to come..."

I would lose the wrist band as well...

    Nice work.

Just gorgeous.... I'm assuming the wrist band means something so I'm not as bothered by it....

I'd love to see it with a little warmer tone, but it's still just beautiful! I'm sure she's really pleased.

Andy, I'm sure your monitor is better calibrated than mine of you're seeing a tint that I'm not. What / How do you calibrate your gear please?

Thank you to everyone, I do appreciate the positive feedback. Ironically, Thursday I was read the riot act by a woman who thought this pic was porn. I have to admit, my intent was always to express beauty, not porn so I was more than a little shocked. Unfortunately, she was the mother of a bride I was hoping to shoot in June.

The supreme irony is that she was a mother and could not get past the skin to see the miracle in all this. I didn't bother trying to explain it. Any image that needs explanation isn't much of an image in my opinion. I just picked up the pieces of my buttocks off the floor and thanked her for her time.

Cool, but too purple for my tastes... a little work on the color cast could make it perfect :P.

You don't even need a calibrated monitor to get the numbers right. Read up on skin tone in our tutorials, linked in my signature or in the navbar, top of the site.

Here is my 30 second fix on this image. WAYYYY too much blue in the original.

EDIT: BTW, I love this image. I don't often like maternity images. I mean, I recognize many as fine for what they are, but they're usually kinda creepy to me (as in they easily go to cheese, IMO). This one works nicely.

That is absolutely tragic that she saw this as "porn". Maybe it's a good think you won't be shooting her daughter's wedding....

I just love both yours and DavidTO's redo on them. Both of them have a great color to them. Just a gorgeous shot! She's got to be very pleased!
