[Macro] There's a fly in my room ...

This guy has been buzzing around my bedroom all night, so I threw together the old macro rig, and chased him around the place for a good 45 minutes or so! :p

Shot at full 1:1 with 68mm worth of extension tubes. [Who feels like working out the magnification on that one?]

What you're seeing is 100% of the original frame, it hasn't been cropped even one single pixel.

Sexy little critter isn't he!

    I moved your fly shot over here, as it will get more comments and views,
    as this is the place lots of folks post MACRO shots :D

    Picked up heaps of detail too, those Extention Tubes really do come in handy don't they.

    I see in your EXIF File that you fired the flash, may I ask how you defused it, as you hardly have any light reflection in the flies eyes.

    We're always interested in how people use their Flashes when it comes to Macro.

    I'd guess that you were shooting a little over twice life size -maybe close to 2.5x.

    I've got the flash [580EX] on a Delta Flip Flash Bracket, with a Sto-Fen Omnibounce that has a couple of sheets of paper towel inside it.

    Does the trick!

    Thanks David, I just brought that same Delta Flexible Bracket, however I have to wait till I go to the Dgrin Shoot in September before I get to see it :D .

    Being able to put that flash where you want it has got to make a huge difference, and I believe this is where I will be able to improve once I get my bracket.
