I love the self portrait George.

I don't think the doorframe is a postive addition though:D

Question is, in the second one, do you want the noise grain or not?

    Very interesting effects...

    thanks much for looking!-

    re noise-

I guess you haven't looked at much of my stuff-

I use it quite a bit-

    hah!-

love it when someone uses 'interesting'-

    it's a good euphemism-

Damnit, George. I keep telling myself that I don't like grain/noise and you keep showing me that, sometimes, I do!

Heh. Yeah, I've looked at your stuff, but I'm used to your noise being more filmlike, rather than postprocessy. I'd expect noise on the face, but it seems wasted in the background.

As for 'interesting', I meant it in this context:
    http://www.prime-junta.net/pont/Pontification/o_Boring_Photographs/a_Boring_Photographs.html

I'm not one for using euphemisms, most of the time; I lack the subtlety.

I like both of them George...pretty equally, too! Can't quite decide on the crop in the first one with your head almost resting on the bottom of the frame. Is this uncropped, or was it intentional? Not a biggie....just an observation. I'm into observations today. :D

over all, I like the 2nd one better. I keep going back to look at it. One thing that bugs me a bit about the grain is that it looks like your bottom lip is growing whiskers:D

    cheers,

    C.

I may be the odd man out here George, but I find the first one much more interesting.

I find the use of grain worthwhile sometimes, but for me it is like pepper, best not used in large amounts:D :D

    Cool looks, George!

And I also quite like the fact your postprocessing is somewhat overdone sometimes.

I myself dig #1. More than #2, but IMHO the best is your avatar shot!

    Thanks for sharing!
    Take care!

I like both of these George, but I agree with Pathfinder: there's something really intriguing about that first shot. There's a really "gritty" feel to these shots. Nice work.
    C and C always welcome.
