Killdeer in a stressful situation
Here's the setup:
This is the compass rose of the Fairhope Municipal airport.
This was going on at the airport, an air show!
This killdeer had a stressful situation:
Which it and it's mate made by making this inside the above compass rose:
Once hatched, they like to wonder as they can soon after hatching:
Oh no you don't, You don't get close to my babies:
Look at me, I am wounded:
According to Billy, the guy in charge of the air traffic for the show, the little chicks hatched the last day of the show. I did not know how bright the feathers are under killdeers. The little guy on the taxi way did make it back to the nest and protection of his parents. 8)
