Brand spanky new boxed Canon 300 f4L IS for sale.

EF300mmF4-USM.jpg

Used only 2 or 3 times whilst I was deciding to replace my 300f2.8

If you want pictures I can put some up.

I'm not an ebay fan so it won't be going there.

Price: $900 shipped (was $950). (They're roughly $1100 or thereabouts new)

Paypal/cheque/wads of cash accepted....

Andrew :)

I want it. I really really want it. But the photo budget is shot for this year. It would make a great present for fishwife to shoot her birds next year, tho.

Maybe if I get my tax return reall quick.......:cry :cry :cry :cry

A serious question - can a tcon be used with it?

An honest thought - I cannot afford it just yet, but I am interested.

Does the 300mm have the rubber gasket for weatherproofing like the 70-200IS does?

Andrew, I am thinking lenses, but I can't buy a lens until I have some honest to goodness money. The govt is being a bit vague. Sometime before Feb 8.

Why are you selling it. What did you buy instead? Sure, I will look at a picture.
Do you think it is better than the sigma 100-300 f4 EX IF HSM AF lens for Canon?

I will never understand lenses, except zoom, slow at focusing, basic stuff like that. The technical stuff blows my brain, so I am just letting other other people tell me.

    ginger

I updated my paypal acct, I could give you 300.00 to hold it. The most it could be would be a week. Please PM me, also let me know exactly how much you are asking for it.

i hate to be evil here, but is IS better than 100-300 sigma zoom? both are fixed f/4... that's a tough tough call. I'd love to see image comparison.

I don't think you're being evil at all. I don't feel people buy it for the IS. But saying that it does give you an edge should you need to employ it.

I think you're always going to get a better image from a prime vs a zoom, as with a zoom something has to be compromised.

    It's a good lens.

Personally I'm not a fan of Sigma lenses and wouldn't buy one, that's not saying they're bad, it's just a preference for me, becuase it's obvious from whaty Ihave seen on here many of you have produced some lovely imagery using them. I did have a Sigma and it just didn't do it for me on colour (warmth and depth of colour - images looked too digital) and decided that I wouldn't buy anything but lenses made by the mfr of the camera I own, as such it's Canon, so I'll buy Canon lenses.
