It was a program bird at a wildlife refuge at their annual open house. Every year the migratory birds fly north after the winter and large numbers of them sto on the Lake Erie shore to eat and rest before they fly over the lake. The bird watching opportunities are excellent and photographers and bird watchers from all over the country come here to see them as the area where they stop is rather concentrated.

The refuge has a open house at this time and bird groups often set up displays. This bird was with one of these groups. I was 11 feet away.
