Yes, yet another barbed wire :lol3

Although, giving my history with the barbed wire images, it comes as no surprise I decided to take this route.

At the moment this is the current version which I submitted. But since there is still a few days, I can tweak the post or even reshoot.

Anyway, without any further ado:

Libertad!

I like it... Looks more like an illustration than a photo, don't know if this is a good thing or bad thing for the contest... It isn't a wall hanger IMHO, but I would definitely wear it as a silk screen on a T-shirtthumb.gif

It's good, but for the contest i would not process it that way. Don't get me wrong, I've used the threshold function fairly often, but I don't think it applies here.

Graphically I like the composition, the layout and the colors here, albeit I think you need to give the hand a bit more room before you fade to black at the top. However, I am not too fond of the very digital look of this image. I can see the effects you are using here working well at 1200 DPI, but at 72 DPI they make me think more of 1980s computing than of a liberty poster. The era you are evoking for me with this image is really the social revolutionary period of the late 1960s and for that I'd suggest a silk screen or lithograph look rather than the cheap fax machine.

I am indeed gooing for the late 60-s - early 70-s era.

I don't mind the processing. The only thing that bothers me about the way the photo is currently is the large area of black at the top. I'd be tempted to crop some of it.

If you were going to play around with more of a "photo look" then I'd try working in a sky with clouds into the background. Or, instead of a digitized look, I'd try playing around with some grain.
