    rainy lights #1 and #2
As I was contemplating why I am not very satisfied with these entries
and how I could improve, I thought of another image which I hope
to shoot very soon. Hang on! Meanwhile, I am eager to learn from any comments.

    Interesting entries!
Look like you guys get some rain going on up there:-)
I remember spending 3 months in Rijswijk (near Haage), that was probably the rainiest 3 months in my entire life :-)

    Mike,
Very nice shooting, thank you for your entries! thumb.gif
The only other thing I'd like to see is if you can possibly dim your copyright text, since it would let us to enjoy your pictures to a much greater degree...rolleyes1.gif

I don't think this picture is breathtaking or anything, but I thought this circle-around-the-sun was kinda cool and I wanted to remember it. I am excited to have something that's fresh so I can play along.

    Ta-da.

    Couple of issues:
    • images *seems* to be a bit skewed ne_nau.gif
    • it would be great to have more of a light source deal.gif

First one is OK, I guess. Second is simply a very weak shot, I'd rather use it in "Save Your Worst Shot" class. ne_nau.gif

In any case, please try not just to be "subject-compliant", but work on all other photography aspects WHILE shooting for the assignment... deal.gif

If this image doesn't cut it for the assignment, I'll go make another with a stronger light source.

    Paulo,
it's a nice image, but unfortunately it doesn't fit the assignment theme, since there is no direct light source in the frame ne_nau.gif

Saw this thread pop up yesterday and figured I would give it a shot. Luckily I was able to find a model that will do exactly what I want an not complain.

    Here's my attempt.

    Hand-held point-and-shoot on full-auto while at work. That's pretty much the how-to. mwink.gif

Here's another from this evening. The No Parking sign is under the second light from the other end. Both were taken during my lunch break. :D

I wish it was MY hangar! Imagine the studio one can build in that thing. mwink.gif

You're right. Fewer light sources do make for a more dramatic image.

I shot four frames of this one, this being the second, and used a different WB each time. I set this one for incandescent and liked how the two types of light played off each other.

I also took a forklift out back, where it was the only light source.

    DSCN2451copy.jpg

I did a lot more - it was a slow night - but I won't bore you any further on this assignment. :D

I think I know when you were going with this shot, but the distraction on the foreground and the noise ruin the mood...
Now - stop wasting your efforts on the past subjects (at least for a while), WA#69 is now in session and time is ticking! deal.gif
