watermarking busted?

Been waiting about a half-hour to slap a watermark on a single photo in a gallery-- still no watermark. It usually takes about two minutes to watermark an entire gallery. :scratch Tonight I'm just getting "image processing" thumbs.
Should I just chalk this up to the usual Sunday night rush hour upload traffic? If that's the case, it would sure be nice for a "pro-lane" or something similar for express processing of images. Makes it tough to send links to clients when the images aren't ready.
And... at this rate, it's easier to simply reupload all the photos to a new gallery, this time with the watermarking set on the upload. I'm not very internet savvy, but it seems like that throwing more photos into the forray would just add to the SM processing slowness.
