Hawaiian Trees at Night

I found I liked the potential in these trees at twilight.
Way cool branches & color in the sky between the leaves.
The wind was blowing fairly strong so getting anything was a challange in the low light.
In small moments the wind would scale down.

These 2 photos are straight out of the camera.
I worked the effort over two nights looking for a maybe shot.

Hi there Daddy O ........ forgive me but when I saw these images load I immediately thought of internal organs and the structure of viens that run throught one's body.

Trees .... veins ..... kinda the same

I like them, they make you look twice thats for sure

Just keep telling it the way you see it.

The lighting was from Tiki torches. Way better than any flash could have
done for the effort.

Stunning shot - also made me think of internal organs like lungs or something. Was it white or coloured light from the torches?

The lighting made the shot work more than anything. Out side of the trees
being outstanding in themselves. The torches gave off a yellow orange cast
and I stayed with auto white balance for camera setting. How do you color correct for torches?

I think the camera did good for what was there.

Shoot a frame of a neutral gray page and use that as a frame for a custom white balance,perhaps?

Interesting "outside of the box" lighting solution

To me, these pics are appealing because of their abstract, organic quality. I wouldn't worry much about getting the white balance correct here. In fact, I would feel free to completely alter the color if that gave a more pleasing image.

How you you think a little bit of fill flash would have worked?? I mean twords the ground/bottom of the shot?? Just a jee wiz idea/question.. Add a little bit of tungsten to it..

A good suggestion.
To be honest it never crossed my mind to use fill flash. A reshoot is not
possible as we were on vacation at this site. Plus, I think had I used flash
I would likely have lost the quality of the color as Richard has mentioned.
In another effort like this I will have to remember to break the flash out
and see what happens.
