Apparently the last few assignments turned out to be too technical. :cry
So for this one I dediced to dial the techical aspect down a few notches.

This week's task is to photograph the movement of time :D

It can be as simple as a snapshot of the city clock tower, or a realtively long (5-15 sec) exposure of a timepiece with the third hand blurred, or whatever...
Get a shot at it, I promise not to be overly restrictive this time :wink

Let's see if you can capture how the time flies!
"May the f/stop be with you!"

    Nice shot!

I feel a conflict however. The deepest sorrow of losing someone close is conflicting with the bright colors of lovely day. I'd say duotone treatment would be more appropriate, otherwise it's a mixed message... ne_nau.gif

Today, the 1.st November is the all saints day.
Tomorrow, the 2.ed November is the day of the dead.

Meanwhile, as I want you t be happy I made this shot for you.
    A different mood, yes.mwink.gif

    Dale,
I went to the cemetery with this purpose.
I have been to one cemetery in Setubal, where they forbid me to shoot, then I headed to the other - this one, larger and modern.
I am sorry because the older is more interesting and it was crowded.ne_nau.gif

I did not compose this shot.
    I was just walking with the 20D + 1.4 x + 70-200 and the 350D + 16-35 when I saw this man.
I rose the camera and shot 3 or 4 photos.

He rose his head by then, but I had done the shots already.:D

Sorry about the flash reflection, I used my ring for this and don't have enough hands to hold it off camera whilst swinging the fob watch and releasing the shutter...

    Thank you! thumb.gif

However, I must say, it's so subtle that I'm at a loss: what moves? headscratch.gif

    Hi Nikolai

I went for a literal interpretation - the watch itslef was swinging like a pendulum, you should be able to see a ghost on the left side.

I tried the 'sweeping' second hand, but no matter how much I wound the watch, it wouldn't start. My other watch has a second hand, but it jumps, not sweeps - I tried a 30s exposure and just ended up with 30 lines...

as i attempt to play catch up with these assignments i find that i sometimes dont have the proper materials to photograph what i have in mind.

in this case, i wanted to photograph a digital timer/stop watch. not having that, i went with the only other digital time piece i have...my computer.

I had a hard time getting the second hand to look good while doing a longer exporsure. But here is a shot at it. The seconds part of my uncle's grandfather clock.

Adam, it's a beautiful piece, but the "time flies" effect is almost zero... ne_nau.gif

I was trying to get the second hand to look like it was moving, but no matter what I did I didn't have much luck.
