Trying to change background to black in galleries

I posted this in the customization forum and received no response....
I was hoping to change the background on all of my pages to black.
I have done so everywhere except my galleries. I can't seem to get rid of the remaining texture on the top and bottom left over from the "black arts" theme. I have experimented with changing the theme, but this changes other things too. Any help on this would really be appreciated. I'm so close to getting my site the way I want it!! Thanks, Chip

    Thanks for the response Al. I have not received a response in the other forum, and the texture is showing when I am logged out. I guess it is not possible to get rid of this.......Thanks for trying. Chip

    Can you provide a direct link to a page you're seeing this? Must be very faint,
    I'll look again.

    Ok, I see what looks like a very dark green around the edges. I deleted your CSS, theme CSS and
    smug-black CSS and it didn't go away so don't know where it's coming from.

    Edit: it looks like it an inner border of the browser window and not part of your page.
    It stays as the page is scrolled and is about a half inch wide.
    Used a color picker over it and it showed pure black all the way to the edge. Maybe
    an optical illusion?

    If I could use a code like this, but for my gallery pages, it should work:
    body.homepage {background: #000000 !important;}
    I just don't know the exact command. I tried everything. It is a texture thing though, sort of a checker pattern. Thanks for trying Al.
