Song Sparrow (environmental)

After reading the article that Harry suggested, how I felt about the shots that I really like was reinforced. Here is an example of what I mean. This Song Sparrow shot is special to me because I was lucky to capture enough background to cement the feeling I had when I took it in my mind.

After a mostly uneventful walk on the prairie along some rail tracks, this fellow stopped and said goodbye and encouraged me to return. It was very windy, so I was lucky to be swaying with the grasses on this 420mm handheld shot.

I look at this one to remind me not to give up or become frustrated too much.

I love the pic! You know, I really want to show how I found the bird in the wild and if that means a few sticks in the way, so be it. Your background compliments the color of the sparrow well. Nice shot!

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Nice capture Ric. Like the neutral warm tones of the BG and bird. Wish that twig wasn't cutting the birds head off and casting that shadow. Just a bid distraction...but that's bird photography in the bush for you.
