It's best to upload your original image file. We do have a file size limit:
12 megabytes for standard and power users
    24 megabytes for pros
    48 megapixels for all users

Supported file types: JPEG, PNG, GIF

After all PP'ing is done...I use the "Save As" feature and save as a jpg 12 this is the largest jpg (and least compression) my PSCS offers.....so far I have yet to get close to Smugs limits........so far

FYI, for efficiency reasons (your disk space and your upload time), jpeg quality level 10 works just as well as 12, but it's less than half the size. 10 is considered LAB quality and will print great at any size that your pixels support. You can keep doing level 12 if you want, but it's overkill for anything on Smugmug.

Hello, I have two panos that will not load, this is what I get when I only try to load one:

It isues an 'Ack! We didn't receive any photos... Please try again or email help@smugmug.com'
    I have a pro account
It goes through the entire Drag & Drop Javva process
    File size: 14,793KB
    Image size per CS3:
    Width 20656 pixles
    Height 4242 pixels
    Document size:
    Width 68.853
    Height 14.14 inches
    Resolution 300 pixels.inch

    So, what's the problem?

Did you up-res that? 300ppi is really not needed. No resizing is usually best.

It seems to be the MP limit that you going over here. It's 48MP maximum.

Edit: also, try our 'simple' uploader, it is better compared to the old drag and drop uploader thumb.gif

No, I did not up-res it. I tried the 'Simple' uploader it said it uploaded but the gallery indicae 'no photos'. Based on my photo stats, what you would suggest changing? I have Nikon NX1.3 and CS3.

I bracketed my shots, used photomatrix to create 13 photos and then used PTGui to stich them together and then CS3 to add a (c).

This is the first time I am hitting this - I have loaded other panos.

What size is the file, in megabytes and megapixels (file dimensions)?

    20656 x 4242 = 87,622,752
Almost twice the 48 meg limit.

Allen, Andy & Ivar - thank you very much for the feedback.

OK, I now understand - this is the first time I have gove above the MP limit.

Based on the following file stats, what would you suggest changing to get under the 48MP limit and still keep photo quality?

What size came out of the camera? That's the max resolution, do not resize
anything and upload the sRGB jpg.
