    Stone
    Playing Catch Up

#1 A stone statue (clearly not the 'essence' of 'stone' though)
    170858160-L.jpg

    #2 A stone levy (a bit closer, I suppose)

    170858434-L.jpg

    #3 And finally, nothing but...

    170858401-L.jpg

I found it rather tough to pull anything dramatic out of a stone on an overcast (typical) Nortwest day. I definitely will go back to this one considering the heady-ness of a subject like stone.

    Thank you!
As to the dramatic - you can always add as much drama as your heart desires in post...deal.gif

Here's my contribution to this assignment. I'm getting started a little late as I have been on Vaca and I'm planning a wedding. This was taken at the lake near my house this past weekend. feedback is appreciated!

sorry, man, don't remember, I don't have the PSD with me. ne_nau.gif
I think it was a simple combo of channel-based Curves and Black-and-White adjustment layers. I wouldn't spend more than a couple of minutes on it, and I remember it was a complete improv. rolleyes1.gif

I'm very happy that you're catching up, but I'd suggest to start with the most active subjects and only then do the post-mortem:-)

On this particular image: it's very difficult to provide any sensible C&C on a post-stamp size image. deal.gif Got a larger version? mwink.gif

Here is a stone within a stone. i'm not sure if this is natural or if the triangular piece just managed to get wedged in there during tumbling.

    Thank you! thumb.gif
    Nice rock!
I wonder if you have any closeups of it (I know it would lose the size feature, but maybe bring more texture and alike)

Well, it's a nice image, but the rock is definitely not the most promonent item of it. Ice -yes, water - yes, but the rock - I noticed it ONLY becuase I looked ;-) mwink.gif

I hope it is OK that I am working through these old assignments. I try shoot something everyday and these old assignments are great inspiration. This one in particular was great because I have had this stone in my back yard forever, but never really thought about shooting it. I am really glad I did, it has some great color and texture.

    Hi jedi6!
Thank you for your entry! thumb.gif
What do I think? I think you may need to read directions more carefully, my young padawan, otherwise you'll never be a full jedi. rolleyes1.gif

It says: "the idea is to produce an image that would - unambiguously - deliver the subject (stone, in this case) as its primary target".

And all I see is the water ne_nau.gif . Ocean, most likely (looks like Pacific:-). Well, with some rocks thrown in. But way not enough for it to count. ne_nau.gif
