Picture sizes change with computers...

I've used two computers to load up pics to two different forums today and yesterday. This forum and a motorcycle specific forum.
I used my computer at home to upload to the motocycle forum, and my work computer (this one) to load to this site.
I loaded pics today with this computer to the motorcycle forum and notice that the pics are markedly larger.
When attaching to the message, I clicked on the picture icon at the top of the message box (their program is the same as this one). I clicked on the pic in my Smugmug account to get the larger version to show, then right-clicked and selected "Copy Image Location" and pasted the info in the window for it.
What do I look for to change the size settings?
Am I making any sense at all?
