Hi All,

I want to submit three of these images to a competition but I'm struggling to choose. Hopefully you can help.

The photos are from a project I'm doing. This project is a series of portraits taken of people waiting to meet their friends at tube stations around London. What interests me if the impact the mobile phone as had on this simple event. It has somehow legitimised being late. As people now phone to say they are running late whilst on route their friends are left to amuse themselves.

Which three best represent this to you?

My pick would be #1, 4, & 6. BTW, you should number your pics to make it easier for viewers to refer to without having to scroll and count them. Very dynamic series.

photographing people is difficult, certainly random people on the street! eek7.gif

i think you did well and i like this one:

the woman is really ehh.. not looking happy rolleyes1.gif and the attention is drawn to that by the blurry crowds walking past. thumb.gif

i've tried a bit of cropping and dodge and burne to get the attention more on the couple waiting. i can post or PM the result if you want.

    1 + 6.........Good stuff.
It is the purpose of life that each of us strives to become actually what he is potentially. We should be obsessed with stretching towards that goal through the world we inhabit.

i'm wondering why everybody likes #6.. its a good photo but what does it have to do with waiting for friends at the subway? eek7.gif

I have to agree with this. Although I like the shot as a street portrait I don't think he looks like he is waiting for anyone (he was in fact waiting for someone but I didn't capture it right IMO).

Can see your point of view with the crop but I am keen to keep all the images in the same ratio. That way they will hold together better when printed and mounted

I would definitely pick 3. The blurred effect of all teh passerbys really frames the the folks in the middle as static..waiting. That plus the slightly annoyed expression on the womans face really tells the story.
