AUSTRALIA & NEW ZEALAND

Welcome. An introduction to this thread can be found here.

If you live in Australia, New Zealand or any of the other regions defined as Oceania we'd love to see a bit of your town in this thread.

If you are uncertain of what to post here's a suggestion: Choose a commercial center of your village, town or city. Be it a financial district, "downtown" area or other type of market center.

We will finesse these forums as we go depending on the level of posts and participation. But most importantly let's have fun doing this!

Start your post with a title containing a) STATE and b) CITY, TOWN or VILLAGE where you live (City only, for New Zealand)

example: QUEENSLAND; BRISBANE

Then insert your photo and add a few lines of descriptive text to tell us about the image and your life in that location.

    Victoria Point, Queensland
This is a photo of the barge and jetty at my hometown Victoria Point, which is in the Redlands Shire, south-east of Brisbane in Queensland, Australia.
The barge is used to take vehicles to Coochie Mudlo Island in Moreton Bay.
The ferry to Coochie uses the jetty. The headland you can see is actually Coochie Mudlo Island and during a very, very low tide it would be tempting to walk there. - Lesley

    Excellent photos Gus
Beautiful photos Gus - I haven't been up there for ages.
    You have inspired me.
It's strange when you live so close and yet never find the time.

Great series Gus. Our next trip to Oz will be to the east coast so I'm thinking a stay at O'reillys may be in order...particularly as we love to hike.

Tks Rae...its a definite stay for SE QLD. You can get cheap rooms as well as the luxury apartments. How are you with leeches btw ?

Shh, please don't mention those to my wife. Of course we could always plan it for the dry season..for the sake of marital bliss.
