Fly and a drop (2 versions)

Two versions on why flies blow drops, take it back in and then back out again. They do this anywhere up to around 8-10 times. One theory is for thermo-regulation, but the one I hold to is for helping the digestive fluids. Some drops are clear like this, while others are obviously some type of brown acid.

So we have the clear version

Then we have the version I think is for digestive fluids. Sometimes the bubble can start of clear and once blown out again it starts to change colour

So there ya go, views you probably don't want to see :): , but its what they do and how they live.

    Good question. Why didn't this fly depart - fly away - Was it cold or what?? How did you accomplish this shot without the fly leaving?

    Yep, super glue :): . Us oldies move real slow and learn not to cover the light they are in. When doing the old bubble trick, they hardly ever move, so thats easy.

    Sunny days and warm. These were trial shots adding a Canon 100mm to the FZ10 after I went from the Sony. It worked as well on FZ10, just as well :): Lens to subject distance on these would be around 100mm (4"). Not too bad to work with.

    I see kidds do that all the time mostly with double bubble.
