First wedding w/ the 17-55 and Lightsphere
Finally got to test out the 17-55 and Lightsphere in a wedding setting. Pretty pleased, but was pretty annoyed at how fast the Lightsphere drained my batteries... though I reallllly like the effects the lightsphere gives, so it's a love hate relationship, lol.

You've got some nice shots there! I have a love/hate relationship with my lightspere too. It will definately kill batteries quickly. Lately I've been just using a better bounce card instead of the lightsphere to push more light forward and not waste the flash in directions you don't need.
I think your bounce shots are nice but the one thing I hate about bouncing on the ceiling is the dark eye sockets it cause (like #11 for instance).
Still you got some great shots nonetheless. I think my next lens purchase will be 17-55!

Yup, nailed that one on the head there.
And yeah, I only started doing bounce only instead of lightsphere since it was the first time I used the lightsphere at a wedding and I was running out of batteries... so for the last half of the reception I chose to do no lightsphere so I wouldn't run out of batteries... hence the dark shadows under the eyes
And in response to Moogle - yeah, this 17-55 is VERY sharp, mmm sharpness.

Yes, very nice Fong Dong Work! Something I think I am going to try with it is to line the back side with some black foam from the craft store to throw the light forward only. I like the look it gives, although everyone always thinks it's a funny looking thing on the flash.

One guest at the reception actually asked me what it was with a funny look, but then thought it was realllllly cool after I explained it, heh.
I am almost contemplating the chrome dome... it increases the power and makes sure it bounces forward... but it costs more than I paid for the lightsphere itself, which is holding me back....

I like #3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 10 & 12 the best.

The LS - well, I don't use it any more. I use, instead, the better bounce card as it's more efficient and produces much the same effect - at least for me.
Good going with the wedding shots - you got some real memories there and that's part of what it's all about.
