Well conserved Amphitheater of Mira (ancient city) in it's time was one of the best examples of antique architecture. The theater was roomy (oh, sorry for my English!) - 35 rows of seats for spectators.
The Theater, like the Mira town itself was ruined by the earthquake in 141 A.C.
But soon it was reconstructed. Interesting that history knows the name of the man who gave money for this - Opramoas from Rediapolice.

Later the theater was used for gladiator's fights.

The theater has 29 of lower series and 6 of the high ones, parted by diazoma gangway.
The theater has fantastic acoustic - a sound of a coin, thrown to the stoned floor on a stage is equally heard on every seat at any row!

The main part of the stage is still in ruins. The front of the stage was richly decorated with theater masks and reliefs of mythological personages. Zeus, Ganimed, Medea with her children and so on...

I still cant believe I was there and touched all these things ...
