>>>Mini Challenge #7 SELF PORTRAIT<<<

edited July 29, 2008 in The Dgrin Challenges
Sometimes, when I see an excellent photo, I would like to know who took it, not just the 'name' but I would also like to see the face, so I thought of this challenge.

I think it's time to put faces on all your names. :)

So here's our Challenge #7
SELF PORTRAITS

** Photos must be taken by YOU. The photo must clearly show your face and also the camera that you used to take the photo!!

hint: reflection

=======================
I will be judging the photo and not what you look like. I wanna see some creativity!!
=======================

This challenge will run from Sunday, July 13th - Friday, July 25th (Midnight)
and the winners will be announced Saturday, July 26th

I'll post the winner in a new thread titled: <<< MINI CHALLENGE #7 Winner >>>

~~~~~
*GENERAL RULES*
1. Have fun sharing and seeing what others share!
2. The host supplies a topic and you post 1-3 images. The host judges the winners (1st, 2nd and 3rd) and is not eligible to enter.
The 1st place winner then chooses the next topic, judges the winner and passes on the baton to the new champion.
3. Any photo you’ve taken is eligible, regardless of when taken or camera used.
4. Any amount of post-processing is allowed. However, it is helpful if you list your camera and lens along with your photo.
You may comment on other contestant's images. If you want someone to leave you some criticism, put an asterisk (*) next to the title of the image.
Guidelines:
1. When posting your picture in this thread, change the Subject of your post to display your picture title. (not really needed)
2. Either embed your image in the thread or, if you must, supply a link to it. Keep in mind, however, most people don't want to click to open photos hosted elsewhere (i.e. on your website).
3. Also try and resize your photos prior to posting so they're sized appropriately for viewing without having to scroll (~800 pixels on the longest side works best.)
* The winner has up to three days (72 hours) to begin a new mini-challenge, or the honor goes to the #2 finisher and so forth.
* Enter 1-3 photos and put them in a single post.
* Please remove any photos from previous posts.
    Oh dear. I will have to talk the stubborn long haired bloke into wearing a suit again...
    This subject will take some thinking. I like that thumb.gif
    While I'm typing, I'll bring up a little nitpick: please include your timezone to the closing times in these minis too.
    Creativity's hard.
    Tough challenge.
    I have lots of shots of me, but none with the camera in it.
    So I went out tonight and shot a couple, (163) and managed to get 1 shot. (with a ton of PS)
    I used a bi-pod with a long extension to hold the XSi.
    Man. when the hell did I get so old?:D
    long exposure
    I used a long exposure of about 90 sec at f 22. About 30 sec in each position And reflection from a mirror. I think this was a good idea for a contest good luck every one. Jovitta
    Thanks everyone.
    The idea for this came from another shot that my wife took of me in arches national park.
    I was looking at one of the arches with the same sunglasses on, and the effect was kind of neat.
    I'm sure that there are thousands of shots out there showing the landscape in sunglasses,
    but when Kate took the shot, it was new to me.
    So, where is everyone else?
    You have a camera, you have a face, there are a lot of reflective things around, get those shots up.:D
    I was trying to think of a way to do this kind of a shot, but I came up empty.
    I kept thinking one camera instead of two.
    Nice shot.
