and on my guess on your first shot.., florescent light bulbs?

Thanks Aaron!!! I caught that one a few days after I got my dslr so really, it was just a lucky catch, but I like it so much I keep my eye open for other such opportunities whenever I'm out!! :D

Good guess, but no. I'll see if anyone else want to guess but I'll post the answer this evening if no one gets it.

I got back into the studio for the first time in months the other day and shot this, which is at least sort-of in theme.

Life has thrown me something of a curve ball recently, so it'll be a while before I am back with any consistency. I'll try to poke my nose in here when I can.

OK, I promissed the answer, so here it is...
They're the plastic vertical blinds for my large sliding glass door!! A bit tilted and EXTREMLY out of focus! I was playing with manually focusing the other night and shot this one off on accident, but I like the results. I love those little "happy" accidents!!! rolleyes1.gif

    do not change this one.
I went minimalist just yesterday morning, so I'll post 3 images from that shoot (but I have many, so I might change them up during the challenge):

Man, is this ever turning into another one of those galleries that should be saved and viewed often.

Peterst, I think you changed at least one of the shots since I first looked, and I love the color and "make you look" factor in the first one. (new???) All are great, though.

Douglas, love the B/W treatment in the Nucleus.

AaronNelson, I like the lines of the sand waves.

MyCaptures, your pebbles and moody illusion colors and composition are wonderful.

Banjon, the straws and placement is great. The lines pull me right into the picture.

Sunitra, I love the lines and colors in your Simplicity.

Aaron Newman, I really like mood of the ladder, but all your shots are awesome.

Oh, Eddie, that's so Oh Funny! Nice color, too.

Jack'll do, your second and third abstracts make me want to get back to my sewing machine. NOW!

Dlibrach, Green fits the theme SO well.

fashiznitsngrins, all three superb. Lovely color and contrast.

Jag, I had to look a couple of times to figure out exactly what the Crystals are (confetti? in a measuring cup?), and I loved being puzzled.

sbp13, Primary Plastic may have been a finalist or a winner in the last SS challenge!

davev, Minimum Spaces is probably my favorite of the entire challenge. How many times have we all tried to catch a shot like that, but the birds wouldn't sit still long enough!

tlee, all three of your shots are excellent. I love the white and starkness of Simply Feathered. Eyelash yarn? The water droplets are very eye-catching.

CWSkopec, it's been done before, but I love the shaky zoom in Another Abstract. Love the address shadow, too.

    LiquidAir, your lighting is stunning.

daveRen, good composition and subjects on both frostweed and saguaromoon.

There are several photos I can't see, so I don't know if it's my computer or a problem with the individual posts.

I don't know if I should have waited until the end to post these comments, but I never know when I'll have time to go through and look at the entries one by one, so I seized the moment while it was there. Good work, everyone.

I don't know how the judges for all the contests (especially GreenSquared) go through and comment on every single entry. It's such a struggle for me to say more than "I like it" or "I love it." Three cheers to anyone who takes the time to comment on photos. We all appreciate it!

I didn't take it as offensive at all. Purely as a compliment.

    > whew....i thought id done it again to someone else yet again.....

You can relax. the comment about changing the others was as much to myself as anything.

I've been creating a lot of images lately with the aim to simplify things and make things more abstract, so at the moment I have quite a few backed up waiting to get a showing in this challenge. Many of them have been taken in just the last couple of weeks. The color one that's up at the moment is from last night and it was a toss up between that one and another (so I might have to put the other one up as well.

Anyway, thanks for the original comment.

    Peter
