replace photo kind of sucks for large orders, eh?

Received an order for over 80 different prints today. Please, please, please tell me I don't have to replace each one individually... :huh

Are there any other options? A bulk replace? This really sucks.

Seriously-- I appreciate the replace photo option, but from a photographers perspective, it really seems like it's a pain in the a$$ for large orders. It takes a long time to upload each individual photo, frequently freezes up, and really is a process that should be automated to accept bulk uploads.

Just my two-cents anyway.

I think you are a star explorer user. It does an image replace for you as long as you turn the function on, use the same filename and upload the original image using it.

Ohhh... I'll check this out! Managed to make it through about half that order last night and it took a LOOONNNG time. The S*E option would be great. Thanks for the tip (and link)-- obviously I overlooked this! thumb.gif

It's very easy to over look. I knew about (and use it) and it still took me 20 minutes to find the post with the secret handshake!

If star explorer detects a replaceable duplicate, it will put * in front of its name in the queue -- if you don't see it, the image is considered new and it won't replace.

I discovered that if you didn't use S*E to upload the original versions or it was on done on a different machine, I would need to get the image info first for those galleries in which I was planning to use Image Replace against.

I ran into problems because I moved to a new box and couldn't figure out why it wasn't working

Yeah, I looked for it in S*E last night (before I saw your post) and couldn't find it either. Thanks again for the info.

Thanks Nik. Using S*E's replace photo right now-- not sure if I would finish this order with my sanity intact without it! thumb.gif
