So, I'll preface this with a bit of a story. A couple hired me to do their engagement set(ironically, not this couple here, but her older sister). It then turned into 2 shoots in Ocean City, MD first, the couple and their engagement set and then family portraits just out having a good time at the beach near sundown.

So I was playing around with this couple, having them out near the water where the sun was still striking very low.

They walked out into the sand:

A big wave came rushing in, so the gal jumps into the arms of her man:

Then the wave takes him down too and the both are in the drink!!! HILARIOUS!

After all this, here is a sample of what then ensued, which I thought was quite fortunate.

I wouldn't have gotten something this sexy without the waves having their way. It was an absolute blast to shoot. The whole family was a big group of fun and beautiful people. I'll post more from the whole set as I finish them but these were some of my favorites.

    Hey Joe,

The first one, the guy's right foot and hand got trimmed a bit.

In the second photo, is that blue part of the sky? I kinda think the background is a painting.

I think it is a very nice set! It does look like a load of fun!

Pretty funny! And great job holding the camera steady through the shock of the moment! I love #3-

Never would have put "beach" with "sequens". But whatever....ne_nau.gif

    Wow, thanks Nikolai!

Thanks to everyone else as well. And yes, I know the crops are off and the 2nd water looks strange because it was hideously overexposed so the highlights were lost and flattened off... That's kind of the "excuse" of out-takes. I had one chance on the moment all while trying to get close enough without myself getting tossed into the drink will all my gear.

I didn't choose the wardrobe, I was able to do some interesting things with the sequins and it sort of worked pre-spill.

Wow, those really are excellent. It takes a real pro to be able to react to moments like that and get the shot, or several clap.gifclap

    Very nice series indeed!
    Thanks for sharing these

Fantastic! Love them all. You did a great job capturing an amazing turn of events. Fun that the couple just rolled with it and provided you some great opportunities to get some great shots. Congrats on a great set!

    Joe,

The lighting in the first is outstanding, but the image doesn't take advantage of it. Good lighting doesn't make up for a so-so moment. I can't help but think there was a better moment just before or just after this shot. The lighting tho?! Yeah, sweet.

#2... now there's the moment, but I think you need to go back and edit it like #1. The vignetting is much to extreme, IMO (really, in all of them the vignetting is unecessary).

#3 and #4 are great moments and the light is awesome. Nicely done. Again... I'm distracted by the vignetting. Just completely unecessary - the subjects and composition draw enough attention without the vignetting. Just my thought.
