18+: Landscape/Bodyscape workshop

I attended a Landscape/Bodyscape workshop yesterday with Jean-Francois O'Kane. The purpose was to marry the human form with the natural environment. I've never done any figure photography so this was very new to me. The group was small (6 photographers + JF). It was a fantastic experience that I would do again. It will be interesting to see if my feminine esthetic will be noticeable when I compare mine to their photos.

Here are some of my photos. I preferred the 'old photo' softer effect rather than colour for many of them. I borrowed a 'soft' lens filter for a few of them and played with DoF.
C&C always welcome. I'm a rookie.

I really like the 2nd, 3rd, and 5th shots in this series.

Each of these leaves you wanting to know and see more. clap.gif

One more and I promise I'll stop. I just upgraded to LR2 and love the change in how the clarity setting works. I'm getting carried away. rolleyes1.gif

I love the earthy, melancholy feel of all of these. But the last one is quite compelling. Thank you for sharing these, they are all exquisite.

Thank you so much for taking a peak and your very kind remarks. It was a great experience.

This sticks out as a step above most of the others to me. In my opinion (of course) less is almost always more. Perhaps there is something going on in my brain, but when I see the female form I want to see it exemplifying tenderness, grace, tact, and curiosity. I think of art such as 'The Birth of Venus' and apply that to photography (http://www.arthistoryarchive.com/arthistory/greekroman/images/SandroBotticelli-The-Birth-of-Venus-1490.jpg for reference ).

Anyway, my favorites are the last two posted. Great work!

Excellent work! I really enjoyed all of them. They were a definite pleasure to view.

Just out of curiosity, how did you find out about this kind of workshop and where could I possibly go to see if I can find any in my area?

    Thanks again for the images!

Hi Patti, great work! I love the soft tones of all of your photos, and the fourth one down in your first set is really awesome. I love how the model is OOF.

The new processing you did is not exactly my cup of tea because I think the blurriness and lack of detail on her skin doesn't quite go with the natural theme you have going: nudes, nature, natural life, etc.

But then again that is also a matter of personal taste. thumb.gif
