Looks good, always glad to see new cameras coming out.

They also added two affordable DX lenses.

I was really expecting to see a Nikon replacement for the D100. Both Canon and Nikon have a missing segment of cameras in the $1,500 to $5,000 class bracket.

    Interesting review on DPreview.

Black model D50 sure looks better than silver IMO.

D70S model has a couple of cool things but one thing I wish I had on my D70 - cable release capability! I might buy one just for that addition.

I knew, of course, that trees and plants had roots, stems, bark, branches and foliage that reached up toward the light. But I was coming to realize that the real magician was light itself.

Very disappointing. I liked how Nikon "one upped" Canon's digital rebel. Just a tad more money for a much better camera.

As responses to the XT and 20D -- I don't have the same "good job guys" feeling.

And yes, I shoot Canon -- but I still exult over any and all improvements...competition is good for everyone.

According to the NikonUSA link here, Firmware version 1.03 was released on 11 January 2005. I think we are looking for something more recent than that.

What I don't understand is why Nikon is still stuck in 6MP land. Two new cameras, with no boost in resolution?

Amen to that..but then again, with the idea of the D200 coming...who knows...might be time to make a significant upgrade body wise mwink.gif
