Gallery Borders

I know this is posted somewhere but I have not been able to find it. How do I put borders around my gallery index pages and is it possible to put them around my slide shows? I guess I just want to know all there is about borders. I was able to find out how to put it around my regular galleries only so far. Thanks for all the help - in advance of course.
