I know there's at least one if not two nuclear plants near me within a couple hours at least. But they tend to get a bit uptight about anyone taking pictures of them anymore.

...from about 9 miles away! Kind of hard to hide a beast like that on the prairie!

Same here. I can be out on the boat in canadian waters to take the picture but still get hassled if anyone saw me. My dad had his camera confiscated for 24 hours. He got it all back and his attorney did a number on the agency that took it but it was still a hassle.

No problem here in Belgium to take pictures of a power plant. The cooling towers of this one are even considered a landmark in the port of Antwerp. A sort of touristic attraction for the little village of Doel.

    24450-M-1.jpg

On a summer sunday, hundreds of people visit this little village to walk along the river and to have a look at the power plant. And of course to have lunch in one of the very good restaurants here.

Now this village has to disappear for the extension of the port. A container terminal will be built right next to the village which will make it impossible to have a reasonable living quality. About 80% of the population already moved somewhere else.

The cooling towers of the nuclear power plant can be seen from miles away
