Snowboard Race
I attended the Copper Mountain Race to the Cup this week. It's tough lighting this time of year. The sun is just over the top of the run, so you're shooting straight into it if you shoot up the run. A lot of mixed light. I only shot the qualifiers. After that there was mostly shade on the run which tends to lack contrast in the snow.

My favorite is the first one -- awesome facial expressions! You do such an amazing job in very tough conditions.
Do you board down to a specific location and wait for the racers to come down?
Thanks. In the past I have ridden down along the side of the course and just picked a spot. This time I actually left my board at the bottom of the course and walked up. It gave me more of an opportunity to methodically examine the course and choose locations to shoot.

Thanks. #1 is my favorite too. Unfortunately shortly after that gate came into the sun, there was a timing problem that stopped the race. By the time things started up again, it was in shade. I only got a couple racers at that gate.
