I've been seeing very unresponsive dgrin performance in the last hour. Just did this tracert which points to issues on Smugmug's end of things:

Smuggy is down at the moment with DNS problems. I'd guess they are related.

I spoke too soon. It's intermittent now. Here's a recent trace that shows one hop in the chain as clearly having problems. I can't tell if this in Smugmug's network or in their ISP's network:

We've spent a lot of $$ on some new forum server hotness. Hang in there, should be installed soon-ish I hope.

But what I'm seeing is networking issues, nothing to do with new forum servers.

I started this thread about dgrin networking problems, posted two traces that clearly show a problem somewhere near your data center and nobody has said boo about it. That's why I keep asking. I didn't appreciate your reply.

Hey John - c'mon lighten up, eh? It's all good, isn't it?

I don't think there's boo to say about this - there were some Smuggy IP issues today and I'm sure they're related.

I was surfing at work this morning and noticed the same problem. I sent off some e-mail to the help desk and damn if Doc W. didn't reply with an oh-so-quick message letting me know the good folks at SmugMug were hard at work fixing stuff.

John, I'm curious if you sent anything to the help desk or just posted here hoping someone would notice?

I didn't bother with the help desk because soon after I posted, Smugmug itself was having an issue. After that issue appeared to be over, Andy was in this thread, so I figured I had nothing to gain by going to the help desk.

Andy's post was 4 or so hours after your first post (in which you identified Smuggy as a problem).

I dunno. I know that I'd rather hear about a non-problem or even a burgeoning problem as soon as it became one. For me, that was noon. And had you contacted the help desk, you would have known there was a problem too. Win-win. No?

Normally, if I need a response urgently, I would go to the help desk. But, in this case, I posted in dgrin and then headed out on some errands for a few hours. I just wanted to know that someone was looking at it and see if I could get a status on the issue eventually.
