Hi Y'all,

I recently spent four days at the Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Reserve in New Mexico. Bosque is a Mecca for wildlife photographers offering many photo ops in some very unique light.

Coming from Florida where we are a rather flat state it was a joy having some mountains as a backdrop.

I have been viewing images taken at Bosque for some time now and I can usually tell when an image has been captured by the quality of the light.

One of the most amazing sights is the "blast-off" of the snow geese

One of my favorite type of images are silhouettes and Bosque provides many ops.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Glad you had such a nice trip. Great shots - does Linda forgive you for traveling across country to shoot sandhills yet?

    Welcome back,

Wow, what a change in scenery does for the photographer! I too, love the silhouettes! But I enjoyed the "wide angle" shots of what the area looks like too. Oh, of course, your bird shots are fantastic!

It was a terrific trip, one of the best I've had. Linda forgave me once she heard how low the temps were in the AM.

Thanks for the kind words PF. It was a real thrill to get to Bosque. I have been wanting to got here for years.

The weather while a lot colder than my normal Florida temps was pretty good.

Thanks Ann, it was a wonderful trip. I really had to change my compositions from what I normally do in Florida. It was greta to have some interesting backgrounds to wrok with.
