I have to say, the G9 saw WAY MORE ACTION than the 5D2 for reasons that it was way too inconvenient to carry a big camera most of the time. I really learned to love this little workhorse and treated it a bit like it was disposable, which made me use it more. It rewarded me by surviving snow, water and some pretty serious weather. I took the little G9 snowboarding for 3 days, dog-sledding and trekking and had it in my big snow pants' pocket most of the time. A handful from the trip:

I especially like the water fountain one because of the snow formation!! And number 2, with the snow on the pines!

A couple videos from the G9. Franz Lanting, eat your heart out—it was like March of the Penguins on our first day of snowboard lessons. If you can learn in this environment, you can learn anywhere!

    Being pulled by dogs:

A couple meaningless, yet sort of pretty, videos from the 5D2:

    Did you drive the dogs?

    I'm partial to the creek--that is beauty-full!

It was a lovely guy called Drew, who was a great driver. I did get to stand on one of the rear rails (what are they called?) on the last run, which was great fun.

okay more from the Eagle River coming...

Nice pics and I like the videos too :) I'll hopefully be uploading some 5D2 videos from Christmas while I sleep tonight. I took a 1 minute video and it was over 300MBs o.O

    Thanks, Cat.

    Don't ask me why:

This one actually looks superb in 1080 taken with the mighty 100-400mm. Again, useless, but here you are:

Those "dunno whys" are interesting. BTW, I have no idea what you call the bits on a sled. I just think it would be cool to drive one.

Indeed! Somewhere I read that Aspens are in trouble (disease or beetles or something) but Vail and environs was teeming with them. Apparently, a clump of them are really one tree with a complex root system. you can tell the clumps apart by the coloration.

Don't know about Aspens, but the Pine Blight Beetle has taken a heavy toll. The area around Dillon/Frisco looks very sad. :cry

Speaking of pines, the closeup shot of the pine and snow is superb!

Really nice series mate. The avatar of my husky "Glacier" hopefully won't reveal which images I care for.

    :D

The image of the cat is good too (for a cat!).
Love this place, but I am an ADV rider too!
