Re: The Journey Begins
Art I ran through a roll of film today....12 exposures....over about an hours worth of time. My goal was to find out where the Yashi meter fell out as compared to that of the 50D. Other than poor light it was the perfect day....misting rain...dreary cloud cover...so no stray light to trick the meters. I framed up different… -
Re: Elivia Encore for Fans (she says "Hi")!
@ Hackbone, divamum & Rey Appreciate your input and encouragement! dm, re #1, I recognise what you are saying, and I'm somewhat on the fence about the processing. I do however like it's immediacy and touchability. For #1, 3 & 4 I had your own USA Norman Rockwell in mind!:D (But only for the painterly style and palette.)… -
Re: DSLR Canon on the market?
Get a camera stand and forgo IS in your macro lens., maybe?? What is your budget, and how big a file will you need for your final image? I shoot Canon too and have no plans to change, but I do like some of the m4/3 macro lenses for close work. Panasonic makes a lovely 45mm f2.8 Leica designed macro-Elmarit lens with image… -

How to do AF Microadjustment (50D)
You have this beautiful camera (the 50D) and a host of lenses. But, you mount a lens and take a picture. And you're a pixel-peeper (like me:wink) and the image doesn't have that stellar sharpness you were hoping for. What do you do? In the past is was the whole send the lens in for calibration, get it back, still not… -
Re: [Newborn]: Theresa Ellen - C&C wanted
Thank you very much. I would be happy to share my setup. 1. Did you use a flash at all or was it all natural light?* Photo #1 was natural. There are three big windows to the right of the camera. The newborn is laying perpendicular to the windows to create some dramatic shadows. Plus the reflection worked better this way. *… -
Re: New and looking for purchase advise.
With a $500 budget, I strongly suggest waiting until you have around $800-$1000USD before purchasing, just because your options increase rather dramatically. Spend more of the budget for a couple of decent lenses, instead of the "kit" lenses. Kit lenses are cheap because they are cheaply made and compromise the system to a… -
Review: Giottos MT 9371 Aluminum Tripod
Okay so this is my first review and since its 2:35am and I can't sleep, figured why not. Its not a detailed review, more of what I (an average equipment purchaser with a limited budget) think. So I picked up a Giottos MT 9371 Aluminum Tripod the other day and overall I'm impressed. I decided to go with Aluminum opposed to…
